Scouting update

Written by Quick step minded at 21:51 2/11-2013

As stated in my previous PR, I will provide updates when possible, so here is part I.

  ----------------------------------------

An old (3 months old) team came back and released 8 riders, which is always a bit odd. Most were old but there were 2 younger guys, scouted the 'better' one. (30>28AV)

  Name: Fergal Risk
  Nation: Barbados Barbados

  Age: 23 years
  Birthday: Day 6

  Average Skill: 30
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  Marshall Pro Team (27/10-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: Good
  HL: None
  SP: Average
  FR: Average
  CB: Small
  TT: Small
  TQ: Small

A new team released 6 riders and ends up on 2k bank-balance, which in my opionion indicates they have no idea how the game works. So I assume there's a possibily he hasn't scouted any of his riders. So I decided to scout the 3 youngest released riders.

  Name: Achim Muth
  Nation: Germany Germany

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 80

  Average Skill: 30
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  OpelAst (27/10-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: Small
  DH: Average
  HL: Small
  SP: Average
  FR: Average
  CB: Small
  TT: None
  TQ: Good

Not quite good enough, but this only makes me think more that he hasn't scouted his riders, as this guy is half-decent, and usually newbies keep their 'better' riders at the start.

  Name: Engelbert Ingram
  Nation: Germany Germany

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 61

  Average Skill: 30

  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: Small
  HL: Small
  SP: Good
  FR: Average
  CB: None
  TT: Small
  TQ: Small

  Name: Tilman Gleisenberg
  Nation: Germany Germany

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 25

  Average Skill: 29

  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: Average
  HL: None
  SP: Average
  FR: None
  CB: None
  TT: None
  TQ:Small

Unfortunately they turned out to be crap. So either his talented riders weren't released or it's one of the older guys. (24/25/26)

Again, noob-team. (released riders + no money left)
Decided to scout the 2 most promising looking riders:

  Name: Oliver Bogi?evi?
  Nation: Serbia Serbia

  Age: 21 years
  Birthday: Day 78

  Average Skill: 29
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  Crkvina (26/10-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: Small
  DH: None
  HL: Good
  SP: Average
  FR: Small
  CB: None
  TT: Good
  TQ: Small

  Name: Vuksan Cvijovi?
  Nation: Serbia Serbia

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 37

  Average Skill: 30
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  Crkvina (28/10-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: None
  DH: None
  HL: Average
  SP: Good
  FR: None
  CB: Small
  TT: None
  TQ: Small

  Nope.

Also scouted a Spaniard (can't remember who) who turned out to be crap.

Then spotted a Welsh team who released a handful of riders to pick up some old captains. This is usually a sign that there is a good possibility he hasn't scouted his released riders.
Only 2 riders are available on the hire list, and 1 of them is 26yo, so decided to scout the young one.

  Name: Eugene Massengill
  Nation: Wales Wales

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 33

  Average Skill: 31
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  Yfenni (1/11-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: Good
  DH: Average
  HL: Small
  SP: Small
  FR: Very good
  CB: None
  TT: Incredible
  TQ: Small

Turned out this guy was pretty decent, so I hired him. Must say to find a guy like him make all the scouting failures worth it.

Stay tuned for more in the coming days/weeks!

  ------------------------------------------------------------
  UPDATE:
  ------------------------------------------------------------

Since I was on a scouting-spree anyway I decided to check the hire list a bit more for riders released a couple of weeks ago (I only took notice to the recent released rider until now)

came across an american of a newbie-team with 32AV, so decided to give it a go:

  Name: Sam Duncan
  Nation: USA USA

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 57

  Average Skill: 32
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  therangercruise (16/10-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: Small
  DH: Average
  HL: Very good
  SP: Very good
  FR: Small
  CB: Small
  TT: None
  TQ: Small

Pleased with that, so picked him up. This triggered my curiousity so decided to scouted the other guy from that team as well:

  Name: Brendan Callahan
  Nation: USA USA

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 80

  Average Skill: 29

  Potential:
  CL: None
  DH: Small
  HL: None
  SP: Small
  FR: Small
  CB: Small
  TT: None
  TQ: Small

  as crappy as possible.

The difficult thing for me (and I guess for many others) is to sustain my scouting-urge, esp. when you've found 2 talents, so decided to scout 3 more riders, but with no result unfortunately.

  Name: Cardo Sosa
  Nation: Spain Spain

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 57

  Average Skill: 30
Former team: Team (End of contract)
  jesusgm98 (12/10-2013)

  Potential:
  CL: None
  DH: None
  HL: Small
  SP: Average
  FR: Good
  CB: Small
  TT: Small
  TQ: Average

  Name: Domenico Albarracin
  Nation: Spain Spain

  Age: 22 years
  Birthday: Day 88

  Potential:
  CL: None
  DH: Small
  HL: Small
  SP: Average
  FR: Small
  CB: None
  TT: None
  TQ: Good

  Name: Geronimo Alzugaray
  Nation: Spain Spain

  Age: 23 years
  Birthday: Day 20

  Potential:
  CL: Average
  DH: None
  HL: Small
  SP: Small
  FR: Average
  CB: Small
  TT: Small
  TQ: None

I see at least 5-10 more riders who I'd like to scout, but I think it's a good time to stop for today, it would only lead to more failures I guess...

I had just enough will-power left to squeeze out another PR on this matter. Not with a much info about why I scouted those selected riders, but with scouting reports nonetheless.

Team WonderDee at 11:14 20/11-2013
Hope this is not the end. Hope to see more reports

SprintingKings at 23:34 19/11-2013
When can we expect another update? Interesting to follow your scouting progress.

WinterStorm at 19:18 14/11-2013
  Lol!

Quick step minded at 19:07 14/11-2013
Have scouted plenty in the meantime (not with great success mind) but I've been kinda busy/lazy the past 2 weeks.

Anyway, I just scored points in 10th div with 5 riders on practice and the captain with 39CL in a CL-race with 17 teams in it. Which now means I can't see the riders from the lowest teams anymore. I'm enraged.

  Me too.

WinterStorm at 10:49 3/11-2013
I scouted all my riders at the beginning cause there had to be a descent one. But I had only crappy ones and my oldest rider 28 had an incredible stat but no side stats.

I wish I had an Eugene
